Story

Costantino was born in Naples in Southern Italy in the Spring of 1967. Having studied at Pisa University to become a computer expert Costantino returned to Naples and began working for the Mariano Rubinacci fashion emporium ‘London House’. It was here thatCostantino met Felice Visone who was to become a great influence on Costantino’s future career as his teacher and mentor. Costantino’s passion for the art of made-to-measure tailoring. After having worked at London House for Mariano Rubinacci for a year and a half, Costantino took the decision to set up his own company called ‘FC’ effectively 29 years ago. In the early years ‘FC’ concentrated on producing pret a porter garments for various industry sectors such as public institutions and the transport sector etc. During these early years, Felice Visone provided Costantino with the foundation on which to build his made-to-measure skills with the result that Costantino honed his craft over time and became an expert in this field.  At the same time, Costantino studied the history and development of tailoring throughout the world but above all concentrated on learning and understanding the craftsmanship of the Neopolitan tailoring industry. In 1998, Costantino closed his company ‘FC’ and founded his current made-to-measure tailoring company ‘Scarpino by Costantino Punzo’ which provides a 360º tailoring service. Costantino’s expansive knowledge was learnt from various highly-skilled Neopolitan artisans such as Luciano Lombardi (specialist in the art of the tailored shirt), the Mola Family (artisans in the art of tailored trousers), Marino Francesco (craftsman in the art of neckwear) and Mr Vastola who is a specialist in made-to-measure footwear and works with the company Gatto based in Rome.Costantino launched his company working initially in Rome, Bologna, Milan, London and Paris but from 2000 he had the opportunity to expand his made-to-measure business in East Asian countries and began to work with stores in Japan, Russia and Uzbekistan. Since 2010, Costantino has been working with Satoshi Kunisawa to build the Esseci brand together and they have succeeded in developing a strong client base of elite customers such as actors, captains of industry and presidents.  Since 2018, the Esseci brand has continued to concentrate on the overseas market and has worked collaboratively with the made-to-measure shirt  producer Anna Matuozzo of Naples, Panico Tailoring of Naples and made-to-measure footwear producer Di Mercurio.
